        We at Bridge to Asia want you to know that Cambridge Bears have many exciting ways for students and families to broaden their horizons, both in and outside of our Bridge to Asia Program. Make memories that will last a lifetime.

        Which adventure will you choose?

        Every two years, students participate in our immersive Homestay Cultural Exchange with a high school in Yokohama, Japan. This program fosters lasting friendships, cultural understanding, and language skills through authentic home stays and collaborative activities. Yokohama Homestay Exchange Our Programs Bridge to Asia is a high school organization aimed at encouraging students to learn about and travel to Asia. Every two years, we participate in a Homestay Cultural Exchange program with a high school in Yokohama, Japan. In the intervening years, we travel using an educational adventure tour company called EF Tours. In spring/summer 2025, we had our Japan exchange. In summer 2026 we took students to Thailand Cambodia, and Vietnam. In spring/summer 2027 we'll be returning to Japan. In summer 2028 we'll be going to South Korea.

        Cambridge-Yamate Homestay Cultural Exchange 2027

        Every two years, students participate in our Bridge to Asia immersive Homestay Cultural Exchange with Yamate-Gakuin high school in Yokohama, Japan. This program fosters lasting friendships, cultural understanding, and curiosity through authentic experiences with local students and families. We need of hosts and travelers for our 2027 Spring/Summer program. Reach out to Dr. Michael Shea for more details.

        Our upcoming trips include a return to Japan in Spring/Summer 2027 and a new adventure to South Korea in Summer 2028. These programs aim to broaden students' global perspectives and foster cultural appreciation through immersive travel experiences.         EF Leadership Summit 2027

        Journey through Italy and Prague to explore responsible food practices, from family-run farms using sustainable methods to vibrant local markets supporting local producers. You’ll discover the impact of your food choices then return home inspired to eat more consciously and support local food communities. Travel dates are July 2 - July 12, 2027. Recent trips have taken students to Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and South Korea, offering deep cultural insights and once-in-a-lifetime experiences.         EF Educational Adventure to Ireland 2027

        Get your hands dirty (literally) as you experience the farm-to-table journey—an important part of life in Ireland—by visiting a variety of local farms around the country. Learn about organic and sustainable farming practices, the impact of climate change on traditional food production, and how each agricultural product requires specialized care. Get to know Irish farmers and fishermen, learn about the business of farming, and engage in hands-on projects at dairy, potato, shellfish, or sheep farms. Balance your time between vibrant, culture-packed, and welcoming cobblestone streets with the evergreen, natural sprawl that makes the Emerald Isle truly unforgettable.         EF Educational Adventure to South Korea 2028

        In June of 2028, Bridge to Asia will offer students the opportunity to travel to South Korea and visit the cities of Seoul, Busan, and Gyeongju for a fantastic educational adventure. Ride the Korean Wave from Seoul to seaside villages and discover a nation leading the world in art, culture, and technology. In Seoul, explore royal palaces, stroll down neon-lit streets, and feel the creative pulse of K-pop at every turn. Then step back in time among Gyeongju's centuries-old temples and royal tombs, and experience Busan's colorful seaside streets.Sign up today to qualify for potential discounts and scholarships!         EF Educational Adventure to Belize 2028

        Students experience Belize as a living network of ecosystems. In the rainforest, they participate in ecological fieldwork that may include watershed quality assessment, ethnobotanical exploration, or soil-building studies. They also work alongside a local NGO to learn about protected areas research and conservation compliance. In Punta Gorda, students visit a sustainable farm, then connect with Mayan culture through tortilla-making, chocolate production, basket-weaving, and dance. Field experiences in the Port Honduras Marine Reserve, Punta Negra, and Tobacco Caye bring marine science into focus through underwater transect surveys, manatee monitoring, snorkeling, and conversations about coastal erosion.
