If you have not yet enrolled for our 2026 Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam trip, please consider doing so as soon as possible. We are incredibly excited to offer this opportunity to Cambridge students.

However, since this is an international trip, we need to know by Monday, September 29, if you’re planning to join us - and the only way to do that is enroll. If we don’t have at least 6 students committed to traveling by this date, we will not be able to move forward with the trip. We'd like more, but we need at least 6 to make it feasible.

Explore Experiential Learning Through Travel
Traveling to East and Southeast Asia, students will explore modern cities, historical sites, and natural wonders, all while enhancing their academic knowledge through hands-on, experiential learning.
For example, in 2026 students going with us to Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam will have a chance to see the Mekong River Delta, The Independence Palace, Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, Bangkok, and Ayutthaya and they'll also see cultural dances and performances and even take a Khmer cooking class and visit Thai organic farm.
In 2027, familes and students will have the chance in sprinig to host Japanese students from Yokohama for two weeks and share our Georgian and American culture with them. Then our students will have the chance to go to Yokohama in summer, where they'll visit Tokyo, Tokyo DisneySea, see Lake Ashi, and even experience living with a Japanese family.

Embrace Cultural Understanding
Our program is designed to foster a deep understanding of and appreciation for cultural differences through immersive experiences. Students will engage with locals, participate in traditional activities, and develop a global perspective.
In summer of 2026 we're taking students on an exciting and educational adventure to Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Then, in 2027 we'll be participating in our Japanese Homestay Cultural Exchange with Yamate Gakuin HS in Yokohama. Don't miss these lifechanging opportunities.

Build Lifelong Connections
Bridge to Asia not only promotes educational growth through cultural exchange and experiential learning but also encourages students to form lasting friendships across borders, building a healthy curiosity and creating a global network of citizens committed to mutual understanding and positive change.
In Thalland, Cambodia, and Vietnam our students will experience some of Southeast Asia's most amazing and historical sites and activities alongside fellow studnts from all over the US. In Japan, our students will live with Japanese families and experience alongside their hosts some of the best the Kanto Region cities of Kamakura, Tokyo, and Yokohama has to offer.

Cultural Immersion Programs
Students participate in local customs and traditions and eat regional foods, gaining firsthand experience that enriches their understanding of diverse cultures.
Academic Partnerships
We collaborate with foreign schools like Yamate-Gakuin High School and domestic colleges like Georgia State University or Georgia Tech to provide both traveling and visiting students with a comprehensive educational experience, including workshops and lectures from local experts in both countries.

From exploring bustling cities to to visiting historical monuments to trekking through scenic landscapes, our programs offer a balance of educational and adventurous activities that go well beyond typical tourism.

Meet the Educators Working Hard to Offer These Opportunities for Adventure, Cultural Exchange, and Experiential Learning.
Michael Shea, PhD
Dr. Shea founded the Bridge to Asia Program in the Fall of 2022. Dr. Shea has a PhD in Political Science and an MAT in Social Studies Education for Grades 6-12. Dr. Shea has traveled for education, research, humanitarian aid, cultural exchange, and pleasure to many countries the Caribbean, East Asia, Europe, and South Asia.
Emily Gibson
Ms. Gibson joined the Bridge to Asia Program in the fall of 2023. Ms. Gibson has an MA in East Asian Studies and teaches World History, Current Issues, Women's Studies, and Human Geography. Ms. Gibson studied Political Science at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea where she earned an MA in Political Science. Ms. Gibson has traveled throughout Asia and Europe.
Sarah Rhodes
Ms. Rhodes joined the Bridge to Asia Program in the spring of 2024. Ms. Rhodes teaches both AP and on-level Psychology and has also taught World History, U. S. History, and American Government. Ms. Rhodes has traveled to Japan as well as throughout Europe.
